1972
The first light signalling systems
The first TBK, MBF and MBA type cable- and radio-operated traffic light systems were produced and sold in large numbers.
1980
Relocation
By 1980 the company had outgrown its original facilities. FABEMA® GmbH founded new headquarters in Kürten near Cologne, where we are located still today.
1994
FMC-St control cabinet
With the first mobile traffic control system a milestone was reached in the company’s history. The FMC-St was able to control up to 16 traffic lights.
1995
FABEMA® GmbH established its first new company division in Kahla, Thüringen
By establishing the first company branch in Kahla, Thüringen, Manfred Berghaus found an ideal location to more quickly and efficiently supply mobile traffic control, guidance and safety systems faster to customers throughout Germany.
1997
EURO 2000
What is today still the best-selling light signalling system, EURO 2000 was marketed and has been further developed ever since.

New logo
From the old make the new. In 1998 our logo was given a modern look.
2003
Company management
Peter Tesch became a shareholder and was appointed as joint managing director of FABEMA with Manfred Berghaus.
2003
01.12.03Renaming
The company was converted to a GmbH, a limited company under German law.
2004
Design & Development – Komet model
Robust. Transportable. Quickly ready to operate. Green light for a new generation of mobile traffic light systems. In the development of the Komet model operational reliability played a decisive role. Repair and maintenance work could be significantly reduced by bringing the traffic lights and all controlling electronics together into the newly designed, durable housing.
2010
FMC-N
The FABEMA FMC-N system is a multifunctional traffic control system for up to 32 traffic light groups and 224 signal lights to meet requirements ranging from simple to complex solutions.
2015
The Cologne service division opens
By 2015 the time had come: FABEMA established a new service division in Cologne. The company’s two core operations, new product sales and Rental service, were thus separated physically.
2019
Change of company structure
Manfred Berghaus stepped down from his post as operational director but remained true to the company as a shareholder. At the same time commercial director Jens Jankowski was invested with full authority within the company. Peter Tesch is sole managing director of FABEMA® GmbH.
2022
FABEMA® is 50!
Our history began 50 years ago with the first radio-controlled traffic lights – and is only now really getting started! Since its founding, technological further-development, high-quality products and our well-trained employees have made FABEMA® what it is today: a reliable partner. Developing products, working with our customers to carry out individual projects and establishing innovations in the market are amongst our core competencies.
Alongside our national business, export is for us a fundamental activity that we are developing professionally with our partners.

Years of development: FABEMA® is the manufacturer of the first mobile TÜV Rheinland-certified complete system with proof of safety.
With professionalism and expertise, FABEMA® SECURION was designed in accordance with the current standards DIN EN 50556, DIN VDE 0832 and NEN 3384. The product family includes three versions: FABEMA® SECURION MINI-FÜ, FABEMA® SECURION MIDI, FABEMA® SECURION MAXI - a solution for every requirement.
