FABEMA Manfred Berghaus e.K. founded by Heike & Manfred Berghaus near Cologne, Germany: the beginning of the history of mobile traffic light systems by FABEMA.
The first TBK, MBF and MBA type cable- and radio-operated light signalling systems were produced and from then on sold in large numbers.
When the growing company started to become too big for its site, by 1980 the time had come to relocate. FABEMA® GmbH’s headquarters are still located in Kürten near Cologne today.
With the first mobile control unit a milestone was reached in the company’s history. The FMC-St was able to control up to 16 signal transmitters.
In building the first company branch in Thüringen, Manfred Berghaus found an ideal location from which to supply mobile traffic light systems and traffic guidance and safety systems faster to customers throughout Germany.
What is today still the best-selling light signalling system, EUR 2000 was marketed and has been further developed ever since.
Our traffic light system for all needs.
From the old make the new. In 1998 our logo was given a modern look.
Peter Tesch became a shareholder, was appointed a director and immediately became joint managing director of FABEMA with Manfred Berghaus.
The company was converted to a GmbH, a limited company in German law.
Robust. Transportable. Quickly ready to operate. Green light for a new generation of mobile traffic light systems. In the development of the Komet model operational reliability played a decisive role. Stoppages and maintenance work could be markedly reduced, because all the important components are housed in the signal transmitter.
The FABEMA FMC-N is a multifunctional control unit for light signalling systems with up to 32 signal groups and 224 signal lights to meet requirements ranging from the simple to the complex.
By 2015 the time had come: the service point in Cologne was opened The company’s two core operations, sale and hire, were thus also separated physically.
Manfred Berghaus stepped down from his post of operational director but remained true to the company as a shareholder. At the same time commercial director Jens Jankowski was invested with full company signing authority. Peter Tesch is sole managing director of FABEMA® GmbH.
